Welcome to 1001 Colors, where creativity becomes a career and bold art builds bright futures.
A new animated look at our first 30 years, from ArtWorks to 1001 Colors.
Stories shape how we remember history. They connect generations, illuminate overlooked contributions, and invite us to imagine a more just and unified future.
When Kyra Watkins began her first ArtWorks apprenticeship in the summer of 2010, she was a 15 year old Cincinnati teenager who loved drawing but had never imagined a future in the arts.
I was 16 and 1001 Colors was my very first job as an Apprentice, working under a tent in Eden Park.
2025 was a landmark year for ArtWorks, a year defined by bold ideas, vibrant partnerships, and transformative art experiences. Together, we shaped a more connected and creative Cincinnati.
For the past 29 years, ArtWorks has helped shape Cincinnati’s creative landscape by employing and training over 3,500 professional artists and 4,000 youth ages 14–24.
