SofaBurn Inc

SofaBurn Inc. is dedicated to supporting artists by subsidizing healthcare costs and providing financial education to help sustain their careers. Artists can apply for financial assistance if medical expenses or debt are hindering their ability to focus on their work. To apply, artists can submit an online application, after which a volunteer from SofaBurn Inc will reach out within five business days to discuss their situation and explore ways to reduce costs. Interactive Community Painting for Brighton Center's Wine Over Water

Brighton Center is seeking an artist to design an interactive, paint-by-number style artwork for its annual Wine Over Water fundraiser on September 12th, 2026, held on the Purple People Bridge.

Brighton Center is a Northern Kentucky nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency. This year's Wine Over Water event is especially meaningful as the organization celebrates its 60th anniversary. The annual food, drink, and live music experience welcome approximately 500-700 guests to the bridge each year.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Brighton Center would like to incorporate a collaborative art experience that allows event attendees to help create a finished piece of artwork throughout the evening. The completed artwork will then be raffled off to one lucky event guest.

The selected artist will create a design that can be completed collaboratively by Wine Over Water attendees, similar to a large-scale paint-by-number experience.

Brighton Center is open-minded about the subject matter, though imagery celebrating Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati, the riverfront, or the local skyline could be a great fit.

The finished piece should be:

  • Large enough to create a visible and engaging experience during the event
  • Small enough for the eventual winner to comfortably display in their home
  • Designed to be completed by many participants throughout the evening
  • Manageable using approximately 15-20 paint colors
  • Easy for guests of varying artistic abilities to contribute to using paint, paint pens, or a similar medium

There are two potential approaches to the project. Artists interested in either level of participation are encouraged to apply:

  • Option 1: The artist creates and prepares the artwork in advance, including the outlined/numbered design and instructions, and delivers it ready for guests to complete during the event.
  • Option 2: The artist prepares the artwork and also attends Wine Over Water on September 12 to help facilitate the interactive painting experience and engage with guests.

This is a paid opportunity and Brighton Center is prepared to cover the cost of necessary art supplies and materials as well. Final scope and compensation will be discussed with the selected artist.

Because of the event timeline, the selected artist should be prepared to develop an initial design mock-up within approximately two weeks (or less) of selection.
