ArtWorks partnered with the Kroger Co., Thomas Melvin Studio, and artist Richard Haas, to restore Haas’ mural Homage to Cincinnatus to its original glory.
Completed in 1983, it has since become a beloved part of the cityscape and was a source of inspiration for ArtWorks’ own mural program began in 2007.
In conjunction with the restoration, ArtWorks youth apprentices worked with filmmaker Lauren Pray to document the process and produce a film telling the story of the restoration. The documentary is titled The Spirit of Cincinnatus Growing with Cincinnati and was entered into numerous film festivals.
