1001 Colors commissioned local artist Emily Moores, who is known for using everyday materials to transform spaces into whimsical, tactile environments that evoke play, joy, and imagination while inviting open-ended interpretation offering a sensory alternative to digital overstimulation. Moores, along with Teaching Artist Margeaux Lim, led a team of five Apprentices to create a multimedia installation for the Cincinnati Convention Center.
Windbourne, created using paper, acrylic, and hand‑embroidery, is designed to activate the kinesthetic sense inviting movement, curiosity, and close observation as visitors enter the Convention Center. The installation encourages a sense of creativity and inspires innovation to engage visitors’ experiences, transforming the entrance of the space into an uplifting, imaginative environment.
