Sense of Tomorrow Exhibition Opening

1001 Colors is proud to present Sense of Tomorrow, an official exhibition of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial, The Long View.

Led by artist-in-residence HATSUE, a Japanese-American photographer and educator whose work explores cultural connection and belonging, Sense of Tomorrow features original work by ten emerging artists investigating beauty, fulfillment, identity, and possibility through photography and image-making.

Developed during an eight-week residency at the 1001 Colors Gallery, the exhibition invites audiences to consider how emerging generations see themselves, their communities, and the world they will inherit and shape. Through photography, cyanotype, collage, and experimental image-making processes, the artists explore the collective impulse to understand both the present moment and the future ahead.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, September 25, from 5:00-7:00 PM and be among the first to experience the exhibition, meet participating artists, and celebrate the culmination of a remarkable creative journey.

As part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial, Sense of Tomorrow places these emerging artists within one of the region's most important photography and lens-based arts conversations, providing a platform for their voices to contribute to a larger cultural dialogue about who we are and where we are headed.

Sense of Tomorrow will be on view September 25-November 4, 2026.
